Finding the Inner Serpent:

This workshop is about women exploring their own centers, coming to know the core. Through experiencing our kundalini (the coiled serpent at the base of the spine) or sacred sexuality we find the connection of spirit to body. Living out of this core connects us to our own body, to all living beings, to our community and environment. It is a path to physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Inside every woman is a Snake Priestess. She is that purely instinctual aspect of the self. She is the true key to our survival as healthy, vibrant, whole women during these radically shifting times. She is the power behind living in our truth authentically, as well as the power behind the choices and changes we make in our lives.
In Shamanic traditions, the snake is the universal totem for women. The snake shedding its skin is a process reflected in our own menstruation. When shedding its skin, the snake has open eyes. For us this means bringing consciousness to our process. Léemas shamanic dance rituals call forth a primal archetypal energy which will inspire us to move into our own core and experience for ourselves the initiation of the snake priestess.
We will get to know snakes, holding them, and becoming familiar and comfortable with their energy. We will relate our experience with snakes to our inner anatomy, focusing on the spine, the chakras, enlivening both the front and back body through Snake Yoga.
Through shamanic journeying, ritual, dance and spontaneous movement, art, emotional release inquiry, journaling and sharing, we will honor our experiences through the container of the sacred feminine. Through Medusa we will become more conscious of how we turn outselves to stone by holding onto emotional pain. Journeying to the underworld we can release these negative vibrations that bind us. In this way, dealing with our individual issues, we will find a deeper integration of biology, psychology and spirituality.
Our experiences can be seen through the spiral. The cyclical process of the snake reflects on our own lives. Our creativity as women takes us through the cycles of puberty, ovulation or motherhood, and menopause. We can vision together, to cleanse, heal, and bring back to our families and communities a renewed vision of our wholeness and sacred interconnectedness.
Retreat fees are $395, including gourmet meals and accommodation at magical Isis Oasis, in the wine country just an hour north of San Francisco. ($25 discount available for full payment one month in advance.)
